IN OWN WORDS

As an artist, I have for many years been inspired by engines and industrial sceneries. Their rough beauty keeps fascinating me and in their shapes I often find similarities to, for example, nature. Harbour cranes may turn into herds of animals or an oil cap into a flower…
In my art these things - often portrayed as cold and grey - wake up to a new life as colourful individuals. Through engines I also study human mind on different levels.

After graduating as a visual artist, silk-screen printing was my primary technique. With this method, I have created a lot of my previous artworks. Lately, I have moved to working with drawings, especially using marker pens. I also approach three-dimensionality in shapes of fabric sculptures and interior designs. Regardless of changes in technique, one thing remains and stands out: my passion for colours.
